Material Overview

Travertine is a natural stone with a warm, timeless character that sits beautifully in Qatar's architecture — soft ivory, beige and walnut tones with a distinctive flowing grain formed over thousands of years. It is one of the most sought-after stones for contemporary villa facades and elegant interiors, prized for the way it reads as both natural and refined. Auckland imports premium Iranian travertine directly — sourced from the renowned quarries that produce the Gulf's most consistent, dense material — and delivers it by the crate to sites like Lusail and Qetaifan Island. Because travertine has a naturally porous, pitted surface, how it is prepared matters as much as the stone itself: for exterior facades we use dense, filled and sealed travertine with a honed or vein-cut finish, mechanically fixed for Qatar's heat, so it keeps its clean look for decades. We supply, cut to size on our own CNC line, finish and install with our own crews.

Common Applications in Qatar

Modern Villa Facades

Vein-cut travertine gives contemporary villas a warm, linear, monolithic facade — filled, sealed and mechanically fixed to withstand Qatar's heat.

Cladding & Feature Walls

Its soft, natural grain makes travertine a favourite for entrance walls, boundary walls and accent cladding that reads as understated and expensive.

Flooring

Honed and filled travertine is a warm, non-slip flooring for majlis, courtyards, terraces and pool surrounds that stays cool underfoot.

Interior Features

Polished travertine brings a warm, luxurious calm to reception walls, staircases and bathrooms — softer than marble, richer than plain stone.

Popular Travertine Types in Qatar

Vein-Cut Travertine

Cut along the grain to show long, linear bands — the modern, architectural look most used on contemporary facades.

Cross-Cut Travertine

Cut against the grain to reveal soft, cloud-like flowering — a warmer, more traditional pattern for floors and walls.

Ivory & Beige Travertine

The classic warm-white to light-beige tones that suit bright modern villas and pair with white Syrian and Omani stone.

Walnut & Silver Travertine

Deeper walnut-brown and cool silver-grey travertines for feature walls and bold, contrasting facades.
