A private villa in Al Wakrah, on Qatar's south coast, faced in warm white Omani stone and finished with hand-carved Syrian decorative work. Auckland supplied, fabricated and installed the whole envelope — the ashlar cladding, the pierced mashrabiya latticework screens set into arched openings, the turned-baluster parapets and the moulded wall panels — a facade that pairs a clean modern stone body with genuinely traditional carved detail.

A white Omani stone facade

The elevations are clad in warm white Omani stone with clean, even coursing, giving the villa a bright, calm and prestigious base. Omani stone is a dense, bright grade that holds up well against Al Wakrah's coastal heat and salt air, and its uniform tone lets the carved detailing read clearly against it. Moulded recessed wall panels and crisp string courses give the plain fields quiet depth.

Carved mashrabiya screens — our specialty

The signature of this facade is the Syrian decorative work: pierced mashrabiya screens carved with an intricate Islamic star-and-geometric pattern, set into arched stone surrounds. Each screen is fabricated from stone on our CNC line and hand-finished, so the geometry is crisp and consistent and every arch matches. This kind of carved, pierced stonework — mashrabiya, balusters, mouldings — is exactly the traditional craftsmanship few contractors in Qatar can produce in-house.

Built for the Al Wakrah coast

Al Wakrah's coastal setting brings salt and humidity on top of the Gulf heat, so the stone is mechanically fixed with stainless steel — each panel and carved element moves independently and thermal expansion is absorbed instead of cracking the facade — and sealed to resist staining. Because Auckland imported, fabricated and installed the whole job, one accountable team carried it from block through carving to the last fixed screen.
